The project scope included:
- Consultation with community stakeholders to introduce the project;
- Establishment of a Project Steering Committee;
- Organisation and chairing of the Project Steering Committee meetings, in consultation with the Project Manager;
- Facilitation of the approval of the beneficiary list by the community and the City of Cape Town;
- Establishment and chairing of ongoing community meetings in order to give feedback about developments in the project and encourage community participation in the process;
- Community education;
- Understanding the applicable housing policies and types of housing subsidies;
- Ongoing dispute resolution by involving community leadership to assist in matters of claims ownership;
- Facilitation of the housing subsidy application process;
- Allocation and handover of houses.
