Umtha conducted a formative research study on male circumcision, especially among mothers with infants less than 12 months old.
Umtha’s involvement in the project entailed:
- Recruitment of participants for the focus group discussions, according to the criteria set out in the relevant research brief;
- Running and recording the focus group discussions using a free attitude interviewing technique with the pre-agreed upon schedule, or using a pre-testing methodology as per the brief;
- Transcribing and translating the focus group discussions verbatim;
- Submitting the focus group transcripts electronically within the agreed upon timeframe.
